They are planned to provide our students with exceptional travel experiences to broaden their understanding and insights into different cultures and worlds.
Ascham is proposing to run several School tours over the next few years as indicated in the drop-down tabs below. Additional details of each proposed tour will be presented by the organising teacher in due course.

Each School tour has an exacting selection policy. School fees need to be current, school attendance (including participation in all school events and camps) will be considered as will the suitability of each student to those activities planned on each tour. Other selection criteria may also apply.

The Lizard Island Research Station is situated at Lizard Island on the Great Barrier Reef, 270 km north of Cairns. Researchers and student groups from any country are welcome to use its facilities to learn more about coral reefs.
From research conducted at Lizard Island, about 100 scientific publications are produced each year. The information is used by reef managers to conserve coral reefs, which are proving to be an increasingly vulnerable resource. The Lizard Island Research Station is the Australian Museum’s only field station.
Ascham School is extremely fortunate to conduct a biannual study tour to visit the Research Station on Lizard Island. We immerse ourselves in the coral reef ecosystem learning about the coral reef ecosystem and experiencing first hand this stunning environment.
