The Residential Boarding Program offers Year 9 students the opportunity to live in the Boarding House for one term. The aim of the program is to encourage independence, teamwork, empathy and resilience so our girls can grow in confidence during what can be a challenging stage of development.
During their term in Boarding, our Year 9 Resis learn to care for themselves, improve their personal organisation, manage their finances, live cooperatively with others, and develop healthy sleep and study routines.

Boarding is an invaluable experience for young people – it offers them the chance to step out of their comfort zone to develop a sense of identity and independence in a safe and structured environment. Ascham boarders develop important life skills and expand their social maturity during their time in Boarding.
Each term’s participants will live in dorms comprising both permanent boarders and the Resis, fostering a sense of unity, connection and belonging between all the girls. During their time in Boarding, the Resis develop their self-discipline and autonomy.
