Co-curricular Dance | Hillingdon

General Information 

Our dancers develop core skills and technique alongside fitness and fun with friends. A wide range of classes and styles caters to each student from Prep – Year 12 and their individual passion. The program aims to improve flexibility, strength and coordination throughout the year ending with a showcase performance. 

Classical Ballet training is offered on a Saturday for students in Years 1 and 2. This program enhances the girl’s performance skills and technique. A formal in-house assessment is conducted at the end of the year to grade each student.

Training Uniform 

Petite Development Squad 

Students are required to wear a uniform of a black leotard and red bike pants, which can be purchased from the Uniform Shop. Students are also required to wear white ankle socks and bring pink ballet shoes. Additional cost for performance costumes will be notified closer to the event. 

Year 1 and 2 Foundation Performance Squad 

Students are required to wear a uniform of a black leotard and red bike pants, which can be purchased from the Uniform Shop. Students are also required to wear white ankle socks and bring pink ballet shoes. Additional cost for performance costumes will be notified closer to the event. 

Year 2 Eisteddfod and Performance Squad 

Students are required to wear a uniform of a black leotard and red bike pants, which can be purchased from the Uniform Shop. Students are also required to wear white ankle socks and bring pink ballet shoes. Additional cost for performance costumes will be notified closer to the event. 

 

Coaches 

Ascham Dance club students are fortunate to be trained by industry professionals. 

Jane Stanley 

Jane Stanley is the Artistic Director of the Ascham Dance Club. Jane has trained and danced professionally on an international stage for over 20 years with companies such as The Royal Ballet and is an honorary member of the Royal Academy of Dance.  

Emma Copping 

Emma is the current assistant choreographer for the Senior Dance group. Emma is a dancer, actor and singer and has participated in Disney Paris and acted in All Saints on Channel 7. 

Amy Baxter 

Amy is bright and busy, her love for dance and performance landed her travelling around the world exploring her passion for dance. Here in Australia she has performed all over the country and toured with Children’s entertainment company Millennium Entertainment. Every youngster adores Amy’s fun classes watching her every skip, hop and step of the way.

General Information 

Our dancers develop skills and fitness whilst having fun with friends. Ascham offers both Jazz and Lyrical styles at an Eisteddfod Level. Our aim is to see the students improve their flexibility, strength, coordination and achieve good technique in turns, jumps and spatial awareness, whilst improving collaboration and respect within the group. The year ends with all students performing in the annual showcase.
